Double D - ALL White

Hello all!
It's time for a new challenge at the Double D Challenge Blog and I'm proud to say that Team Darlene are the hosts for today's challenge.  And, our theme is . . .

Here's our inspiration board to help you get started . . .

Your card/project could be ANYTHING as long as it's ALL white ... no added color.
Even an all white Christmas card would be beautiful!  Dang!  Why didn't I think of that earlier!  LOL
Instead, my mind went to a new baby so here is what I've created . . .

I have actually used a couple new dies I just received (full list of products used are at the end of this post).
I added a lot of dimension by die cutting the chair and Baby sentiment several times then gluing them together to make a 'chipboard' affect.  Maybe you can see it better in the photo below . . .

What a sweet card to add to my stash for upcoming craft shows.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland . . .

OMG I don't even want to think about this yet!  LOL

Hello my friends!
Today I have a fun wintertime creation to share for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.
I know summer is flying by quickly but I'm going to try to stretch it out as long as I can!  But, as we all know, those snowy days will be here before we know it ... hopefully it will wait until December ... Christmas snow is okay!!

This was a fun and easy card to create and I love the end result.
The dies I have used today are:

Memory Box - Dies - Simple Evergreen Frame

Memory Box - Dies - Evergreen Trio
Sue Wilson Designs - Festive Collection - Winter Wonderland

I began by cutting out my Memory Box Simple Evergreen Frame then thought it would be so easy to simply sponge the background (popped out portion) blue and reinsert the frame ... half the work is DONE!!

Next I die cut 6 of the Evergreen Trio die and stacked them in two rows in front of the larger trees in the frame ... to add depth.    On the middle row, I actually off set the 3rd trio die cut for yet another depth of dimension.

I added the sentiment die words, used Nuvo white crystal drops for 'dotting' the I's and dabs of Diamond Stickles for my snowflakes.  Viola!

Oops ... nearly forgot to mention!
Don't forget to use both the POSITIVE and the NEGATIVE of your word dies when possible!  It's always fabulous to get a Two for One!!!   Here I've adhered my negative sentiment die cut to a piece of red card stock and simply cut around.  Now it's all ready for another wintertime creation.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and as always . . .

Go with the Flow . . .

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday!

I had a little extra crafting time yesterday so
decided to create a card for the
I've really gotten hooked on creating backgrounds
using the Tim Holtz oxide inks and a
'watery' scene is my favorite at the moment.
Here's what I came up with ...

I recently received the Memory Box
'Oceana Corner' (99144) from the Dies R Us store
and I've had the Memory Box 'Big Splash
Border' (99438) for quite some time so
decided to see how they would look together.

The Penny Black 'Fancy Fish' (51-314) was
the perfect addition and I used the 'pop out' bubbles/little fish
from the MB Oceana Corner with this fancy fish ...
otherwise they may have been thrown away.

The Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks I used
for my background panel are:
Peacock Feathers, Broken China
Wilted Violet and Cracked Pistachio

Challenges to share in today:

Challenge Up Your Life #71 - Circles (bubbles & waves)
Crazy 4 Challenge - Monochromatic
The Fairy and the Unicorn Challenge #6 - ATG option/We are all at Sea
A Vintage Journey Challenge - Watercolor
Dare2BArtzy August Challenge - Pastels
Simon Says Monday Challenge - Nautical

Well that does it for me today!
Here's wishing you a FABULOUS week ahead!

Do You Believe?

Happy Sunday All!
It's Christmas in July August at the Tutti Designs Store and their July Release is jam packed full of awesome holiday dies!  You'll want to be sure to pop over and make your purchase early before they run out!  Today my card showcases a fun snowman die from this release and I'm having fun with Liquid Applique to bring him to life!

The dies I've used today are:

Snowman Panel (#364)

No automatic alt text available.

and from the December 2016 Release

Believe (#230)

Image may contain: text

I spotted a product in my stash that I haven't used in a VERY long time and thought it was the perfect thing to use today to bring my snowman to life!  This snowman panel die is so intricate and beautiful on it's own, you really don't need much to create a beautiful card but I was in a playful mood so I put these OLD liquid appliques to work.  Here's a few steps I took in the process . . .

Keep in mind, with each application, I needed to heat it with a heat gun to make it 'bubble up' ... what fun!
Now it was just a matter of choosing a couple of wintertime design papers to create my background panel.  The upper blue panel was been 'torn' and the snowman panel has been popped up with dimensional tape!  The only other thing needed to complete this fun card was a sentiment ... Tutti Designs December 2016 release has several different word dies and the word Believe worked perfectly in this instance!

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all of the fabulous dies in this latest release.  And, of course, you'll want to browse through the store to see what other dies you need to have on hand.

Wishing You A Happy Birthday

Yesterday, after finally breaking down and going to the Minute Clinic to find out why I still have this horrible cough, (turns out to be allergies and a sinus infection),  I put together two quick birthday cards using two watercolor panels I had created over the past couple of days and were just BEGGING to be used!
I can't get over how quick, easy & fun creating background panels using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks can be.  If I didn't stop myself, all my cards would have a background like these!  LOL

I also decided to use the same Die'sire die cut (DS-EDG-HAP) for both cards, just simply used a larger white card stock panel for one vs the other.  The balloons on the card above were die cut from the Elizabeth Craft 'Balloons' set (#ECD-726) and Nuvo White Crystal Drops were added to the corners.

The card below was created very similarly.  But by using a larger white panel I felt it needed a little something so I die cut the Poppystamps 'Petal Ribbon' #1414 from a scrap of the same watercolor panel and positioned across the bottom.  That was the only addition and I think it's perfect!   This card literally took me 5 minutes to put together, once I had the watercolor panel created & dried of coure.

Challenges to share in today are:
Seize the Birthday Challenge - Anything Birthday  (Option Tie One On)
Inky Chicks Challenge #86 - Use a sentiment instead of an image
{PIN}spirational Challenge #196 - Photo Inspiration (colors)
Simon Says Monday Challenge - Happy Birthday
CropStop August Challenge - ATG using product carried in their store

Well that's all I have to share with you today.
I hope you have found some ME time in your schedule this week!
Enjoy your weekend!

As always, thanks for stopping by and . . .

Pretty Holiday Ornaments

Hello Everyone!
Today I'm stepping in for team mate Samantha over on the Tutti Designs Blog, who is up to her neck in moving boxes!   She will be returning to the blog with more of her beautiful creations as soon as she can find her crafting stuff!  LOL

With the holidays just around the corner, it's time to get those holiday cards started!  Tutti Designs July Release is filled with a variety of gorgeous dies to make that task much easier for you!  For instance, just as I have done today ... only one die, some pretty paper and another holiday card is ready to go.

The die I'm using today is the Tutti Designs 'Framed Ornaments' #358

No automatic alt text available.

To create my colorful background paper, I have used the new Tim Holtz Oxide inks.  All you need is ink, sponges (to apply the color), spray bottle of water and heat gun.   Quick, easy and gave me the holiday colors I wanted to use to die cut my Framed Ornaments.

I decided to use the gold foiled paper as my mat instead of the entire background.  By simply gluing this beautiful die cut to a scrap piece of white card stock, I was able to cut off the excess and give my ornaments a white background which I think really made them POP.

A little white gel pen doodling on the sides of my green background panel and gold sequins here and there around the ornaments and my card is ready to share holiday good wishes with friends & family.

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store and check out all of the fabulous dies in this latest release.  And, of course, you'll want to browse through the store to see what other dies you need to have on hand.

Give Thanks . . .

Happy Wednesday Everyone!
It's time for a new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge Blog.  I'm happy to say I am your hostess for today and the theme I have chosen is

(Anything to do with Harvest/Fall time of year ...
tractors, scarecrows, apples, veggies, cornstalks, sunflowers)

I can't believe we are into August already and that means it's harvesting time of year!
I grew up on a small farm so this was a very busy time of year for us!
All the veggies in the garden were ready for picking and preserving for the cold winter ahead.

My dad had a big red Farmall tractor (like the one in this photo)
Image result for farmall tractor images

that I remember so well.  Even though it was hard work,
we all pitched in and did our part so it wasn't so bad!   I know now that those days
helped shape me into the person I am today!

So today, I pay homage to my growing up years where I learned all about planting, harvesting and home canning along side my Mom, Dad and Sisters.  Nothing tastes better in the winter than to open a jar of our home canned pickles, tomatoes, peaches (and so many others) and enjoy them around the dinner table with my family.

The images I've used on today card are from Crafty Secrets.  Even though they are no longer in business {sad!}, I have a lot of their fabulous products and need to remember to use them.  My sentiment is an Oldie but a Goodies from Stampin' Up (I believe circa 2006) from a stamp set called Country Blessings.

I hope you'll pop over to see what my 'sistahs' have created to inspire you ...
Then come join in the fun ... can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and,

Let's Go to the Beach . . .

Hello Everyone!

I am SO EXCITED to share with you that I am the Guest Designer this week on
the Pause Dream Enjoy blog!  YAY!  Thanks to Janis for having me ... what fun!

The theme for today's challenge is:

I must admit I don't go to the beach very often (red heads sunburn easily, lol) but the few times I've been to the beach it was fabulous!  Walking along the shore line, watching the sea gulls and listening to the waves crash against the beach ... how relaxing.  But as I watch the beauty of the ocean waves I often imagine all the amazing creatures beneath those beautiful waves ... do you believe in mermaids?  I did when I was a little girl and in fact, I have a niece who is in her 20s who honestly believes she was a mermaid in another life.  And, the way she surfs, swims and spends time in the ocean ... I think she might be right!!

I just received this fun Little B 'Mermaid' die set and couldn't wait to create this scene.  But first, I needed an 'ocean' background which I created using a 4x6  sheet of watercolor paper and three Tim Holtz distress oxide inks ... Broken China, Faded Jeans and Pistachio.  I just kept swiping, spraying & drying until I got the affect I was looking for.

My first intention was to make this a shaker card ... but I was so busy putting my scene together JUST RIGHT that when I was finished,  I realized I had forgotten the crystals that I wanted to add!  Oh well!   Guess you'll just have to use your imagination!  LOL!  Where is my mind???   I was so careful to cut all my panels the same so they would fit perfectly together ... used the foam tape for the dimension needed, and I even hand cut a clear packaging panel from one of my recent Sue Wilson die sets to use for the 'glass' front' (repurposing is a good thing) ... all that work and forgot the crystals ... duh!!
